JMS Strategy | Health IT Consulting Services
Because of my experience, I am able to leverage a broad range of skills and expertise to provide exceptional services to my clients. Since 2004, I helped lead an effort to improve patient-care and reduce waste through innovations in medication management in Long-Term Care (LTC). From 2004 to 2006, I led the development of the first standards-based electronic prescribing (e-prescribing) system in LTC and helped secure a $1.15 MM research grant to study the impact of e-prescribing in LTC. From 2006 to 2012, I led the development and launch of Talyst INSITE, a revolutionary medication dispensing technology that reduces medication cost and improves care. I authored a white paper that helped influence Congress to include legislation in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 aimed at reducing medication waste in LTC. I wrote several blogs on the controversial legislation, including one that was published in McKnight's LTC News. In 2012, I left Talyst to help launch AlixaRx, a startup that is now the nation’s largest LTC pharmacy using on-site medication dispensing technology. At AlixaRx, I led the design and development of their dispensing technology, which received a 2014 Innovator of the Year Award. I launched a new digital marketing presence, including a revamped website, blog, and social media platform. I played many other pivotal roles, including development of the company’s software and R&D, product management, account management, customer advocacy, marketing and sales strategies. I am able to pull from these successes (and many failures along the way) to help my clients achieve their goals in these areas.
Prior to 2004, I spent 8 years as a software consultant, participating in and leading small, medium, and large development teams. I designed and developed enterprise-class software systems for clients in a wide range of industries, including healthcare, retail, and finance. I worked for small technology startups and Fortune 500 companies. I was introduced to lean and agile software development methodologies, which I am now adept at implementing and leading. In December 2004, I graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) with an MBA in Business Strategy and Entrepreneurship to complement the BS in Computer Science I received in 1998 from Stephen F. Austin. My education and early professional experience allowed me to be successful in a wide range of roles, providing strategic leadership and driving innovation within the organizations and industries I served.
I am now using my education and experience to help transform technology-driven healthcare companies by providing consulting services in the areas of product management, agile development, and strategic marketing and IT. Please welcome:
